One of the most enjoyable aspects of spring for me is being part of the Baillie Birdathon.  I have participated in this environmental fundraiser for over 20 years, the past 10 as part of a four-man team called "The Warbler Hunters".

After several years of staying within the boundaries of York Region, our team recently switched to Simcoe County and — two years ago — had our best-ever day, finding 140 species in a 24-hour period! The Baillie Birdathon is the oldest sponsored bird count in North America. It was established in 1976 as a national fundraiser to support the research and conservation of wild birds.

All contributions over $10 are tax deductible.

The "Warbler Hunters" will be doing their big day this month so if you are interested in helping out, I will provide a full write-up on this blog before the end of May.

Thanks in advance to any and all sponsors!
