New Sunshine Festival Theatre: The Night The Lights Went Out On Broadway
The night Ethel Merman died, theatre producers on The Great White Way turned their marquee lights off for an hour, in tribute to the lady who, for many years, was Broadway. But a little set-back like death didn’t stop Ethel Merman. From when she passes to when the lights come back on, Ethel Merman, aided by her nurse and physician, tells the remarkable story of her climb to fame and title of the greatest of Broadway’s broads. Presented by New Sunshine Festival. Book by Norbert David, music by Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart.
