Quilt, Rug and Craft Fair returns to the Simcoe County Museum
Join us as we host the annual Simcoe County Quilt, Rug and Craft Fair at the Simcoe County Museum. The event celebrates the finest in quilting, embroidery, rug hooking, spinning, hand weaving, lacemaking and more. These traditional activities, and the beautiful heritage-style crafts they produce, will be on display, created and available for purchase during the event.

Explore the Museum and discover heritage crafts that have been practiced in Simcoe County for centuries. Many items are available to purchase, from one-of-a-kind products to supplies that will help you make your own masterpiece.

The Fair runs from 9:30am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9:30am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is $6 per person, per day, and includes access to most of the Museum’s permanent indoor displays as well as outdoor heritage and display buildings.

The Simcoe County Quilt, Rug and Craft Fair is an annual event held in September of each year at the Simcoe County Museum. One of the most outstanding craft shows in the area, it is attended by thousands who come, year after year, to look, learn and shop.
We are especially excited this year because the Fair we started in 1947 is is 65 this year. We are having a special showing of a Thor Hansen hooked hanging, called Canada Geese, which SCACA members recreated at the time of our 50th Anniversary. It will be on display at the museum during this Fair.

During the Fair, we are proud to showcase and provide a marketplace in our Members Boutique for the craftsmanship of our members, reflecting an ever-growing variety of arts and crafts.

Our Craft Gallery Draw at the Fair is a popular destination. Customers purchase multiple tickets and get to select which prizes they would like to win. These prizes are all hand crafted items donated by our members.
Our Raffle Draw is one of the main features at the Fair. First prize (queen-sized quilt) and second prize (hooked rug) are purchased from any craftsperson living in Simcoe County. Third prize (a quality handmade item in any media) is always purchased from one of our members. Our prizes have a reputation for outstanding quality and workmanship. Tickets are available from any member at $3 or check the calendar for events we may be attending.

Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association presented the first Quilt, Rug and Craft Fair in 1947. The Fair took up residence at the Simcoe County Museum in 1975 and SCACA continued to organize the entire Fair until 1999. Since 2000 the Fair has been hosted by the Simcoe County Museum but SCACA continues to have a high profile at this popular event.
