YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka - “Move to Give”

All day

1 day, 8 locations and a whole lot of fun

Choose how you MOVE and fundraise to GIVE back to your community. Funds raised help ensure the people in our community can access YMCA programs and services, empowering them to live healthier lives and reach their full potential.

The fourth annual YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka fundraiser called “Move to Give” will take place simultaneously in eight communities within our region. To kick start this massive fundraising event, 78 YMCA Child Care and school age programs across Simcoe/Muskoka hosted a mini fundraiser called “Moving and Grooving.” Children and their families collected “change to make change" in their communities across the region and raised over $24,000 towards the event goal of $100,000.

Move to Give participants will keep the momentum going on April 7 by challenging themselves physically while at the same time, giving back to their community.

For a full list of activities happening at each YMCA location across Simcoe/Muskoka go to:

We hope to see you at the YMCA on April 7!

Mayor’s Celebration of Youth Artists - Visual Arts Exhibition

Sat. 2 Feb, 2019 10:00 am - Sat. 2 Mar, 2019 4:00 pm

February 2 - March 2, 2019

Mayor's Celebration of Youth Arts 2019 - An annual celebration of youth art!

The month of February will be officially known as Youth Arts Month in Aurora.

Since 2011, the Aurora Cultural Centre has engaged the graduating youth artists of our community through professional exhibiting opportunities known as the Youth Arts Program. In 2018, we transformed this program to be the Mayor’s Celebration of Youth Arts.

There is no secret the students’ visual art talents and passions have made this program a success; exploring the presentation is to witness our world through fresh and invigorating lenses. The artists’ motivations and technique practices brings forward a world commonly held hidden within the high school’s studio walls.

2019 Exhibition will feature:

  • • Aurora High School
  • • Cardinal Carter CHS
  • • Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School
  • • The Sixth Collection, from St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS

Galleries are free of admission. All welcome!
