YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka - “Move to Give”

All day

1 day, 8 locations and a whole lot of fun

Choose how you MOVE and fundraise to GIVE back to your community. Funds raised help ensure the people in our community can access YMCA programs and services, empowering them to live healthier lives and reach their full potential.

The fourth annual YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka fundraiser called “Move to Give” will take place simultaneously in eight communities within our region. To kick start this massive fundraising event, 78 YMCA Child Care and school age programs across Simcoe/Muskoka hosted a mini fundraiser called “Moving and Grooving.” Children and their families collected “change to make change" in their communities across the region and raised over $24,000 towards the event goal of $100,000.

Move to Give participants will keep the momentum going on April 7 by challenging themselves physically while at the same time, giving back to their community.

For a full list of activities happening at each YMCA location across Simcoe/Muskoka go to: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/EventHome.aspx?eventid=232533&langpref=en-CA&Referrer=https%3a%2f%2fwww.google.ca%2fhttps://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/EventHome.aspx?eventid=232533&langpref=en-CA&Referrer=https%3a%2f%2fwww.google.ca%2f

ClearWater Farm Water Walk

June 23 – ClearWater Farm Water Walk
Free, fun, family-friendly learning event for the whole community. 8am to 2pm
Start: Willow Beach Park with a 1 km walk along Lake Drive to ClearWater Farm.
8 am: Check in at Willow Beach Park,
8:45 am: An Elder from the Chippewas of Georgina Island leads a water prayer and blessing;
9:30 am: The ClearWater Farm Water Walk begins.

Led by Chippewas water keepers, kids and their families will walk along the shores of Lake Simcoe to ClearWater Farm where they will visit four interactive, hands-on learning stations themed around Water, Earth, Food and Community. They’ll enjoy a free lunch and then retrace their steps back to Willow Beach Park. And there is more…

From tragedy can come hope. Businesses are sponsoring this event to help rebuild the ClearWater Farm Barn that burned down accidentally in 2016 as an amazing interactive education space for children.
