Showcasing 2nd Annual Art Exhibition and exploring the expressive and cathartic process of creating and sharing art.

The Old Town Hall Gallery is calling all artists and makers using art as an expression to process or express feelings related to mental health and wellness. Themes include: Situational or personal trauma, forms of mediation, meditation and relaxation.

The exhibition will be from May 1st to June 28, 2018

Town Of Newmarket Heritage Art Contest

Announcing the Town of Newmarket’s 2018 Heritage Art Contest.  Focus on the heritage of the Town of Newmarket. This may include, but is not limited to, the Municipality’s culture, society, economy, history, significant events, architecture or natural environment (past or present). The contest is open to all residents of the Province of Ontario.

Artwork will be on display the first week of May until July 31, 2018.

Showcasing 2nd Annual Art Exhibition and exploring the expressive and cathartic process of creating and sharing art.

The Old Town Hall Gallery is calling all artists and makers using art as an expression to process or express feelings related to mental health and wellness. Themes include: Situational or personal trauma, forms of mediation, meditation and relaxation.

The exhibition will be from May 1st to June 28, 2018

Town Of Newmarket Heritage Art Contest

Announcing the Town of Newmarket’s 2018 Heritage Art Contest.  Focus on the heritage of the Town of Newmarket. This may include, but is not limited to, the Municipality’s culture, society, economy, history, significant events, architecture or natural environment (past or present). The contest is open to all residents of the Province of Ontario.

Artwork will be on display the first week of May until July 31, 2018.

The North Newmarket Lions Club hosts one of the best Artisan’s Festivals in Ontario, on the Third Weekend of every June (Fathers Day Weekend), in the natural setting of Fairy Lake Park. This year we are adding Food Trucks. There are always lots of handmade items for show and for sale.

“Evening with the Stars”

The York Simcoe Amateur Astronomers (YSAA), in partnership with the Elman W. Campbell Museum, will be hosting an “Evening with the Stars” in George Richardson Park.

YSAA will set up various types of telescopes for public viewing. June 16 (rain date June 23), will be an excellent night for viewing Venus, Jupiter & Saturn, all of which will be prominent that evening.  Before SUNSET Jupiter will be visible to the naked eye and some of its moons may also be visible with the aid of a telescope. Mercury will also be visible for a short time.  YSAA members will be on hand for guidance, instruction and will undoubtedly have interesting anecdotes to share, some of which may actually be true.  Set up will start at 8p.m.  For more information please call 905-953-5314, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
