Innisfil, ON – Innisfil Mayor Barb Baguley, joined by the County of Simcoe and Regional Tourism Organization 7 (RTO7), unveiled one of the new tourism wayfinding signs, and announced funding for more.
“Each summer we know Innisfil is a destination for people who come to enjoy our parks, trails, events and the lake,” Mayor Barb Baguley says. “The signs will help them find their way to those areas and show them that Innisfil really is the place to be.”
The initial six signs were installed thanks Regional Tourism Organization 7’s 2013 Partnership Funding. The County and RTO7 were also on hand to announce additional funding to install more wayfinding signage throughout Innisfil. The County will be granting the Town $30,000 for new Trans-Canada Trail signage and RTO7 is giving $30,000 through the 2014/15 Partnership Funding program, to continue to introduce more signage. The second wave of signs will be appearing in the fall of 2014 in other areas of Innisfil.
“Reliable and recognizable tourism wayfinding continues to be a priority for us throughout the BruceGreySimcoe tourist region,” Bill Sullivan, Executive Director of RTO7 says. “This project in Innisfil is one of 32 approved Partnership Projects and will help to highlight the best tourist spots in the Town and beyond.”
Look for the signs on Innisfil Beach Road at Yonge Street, Innisfil Beach Road and 25th Side Road and at the exit at Tanger Outlet Mall.
