ORILLIA - Starting on Wed., Nov. 26, you can help give kids in Orillia the chance to experience the joys of winter sports.
Figure skating pair Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier will be in attendance at a special event launching an exciting partnership between West Shore Beach Club by Summerhill Homes, a builder with homes across the GTA, and Skate to Great, an organization that provides new and gently used skates and equipment to children in need.
From Nov. 26 until Feb. 28, 2015, Summerhill Homes will collect new and used skates and hockey equipment for Orillia area children.
The items can be dropped off at their West Shore Beach Club sales office, located 10 minutes north or Orillia (9361 Hwy 11 N. at Greyshott Dr.), or at their head office in Richmond Hill (20 Wertheim Court, Suite 17).
Summerhill Homes’ West Shore Beach Club is a unique gated community of homes on the Lake Couchiching waterfront in Severn, just outside Orillia.
Skate to Great is an organization founded in March 2012 with the mission of providing every child in Canada the opportunity to skate, regardless of their economic or physical circumstances. To date, Skate to Great has collected and distributed upwards of 6,000 pairs of skates. The organization directly supports schools, programs and charities in Canada, which enable deserving kids and at-risk youth the opportunity to skate.
