Connecting Lake Simcoe's Community

For all ages -- families, parents, grandparents, children, youth.

Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition has a fun "Stay Home, Stay Safe" project for you and your family. Here’s how to join the "Love Lake Simcoe Challenge"!

Make a poster showing why you love Lake Simcoe, or a shield showing why we need to protect the Lake. Use any materials you have or can find in and around the house, including Nature!

Take a photo of your poster or shield, and post it on your Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook.

Be sure to tag @rescuelakesimcoe #LoveLakeSimcoeChallenge #LakeSimcoeLiving

Then put your poster up in your front window so all your neighbours can see.

In planning your poster or shield, think of the following questions:

a) In what area of the Lake SImcoe watershed do you live?   Can you find it on this map?  https://www.lsrca.on.ca/Shared%20Documents/Lake-Simcoe-Watershed-Map.pdf

b) What do you know about animal and plant habitats around your area of the lake?

c) How do you use Lake Simcoe, or the creeks near it?

d) What is your favourite activity at or near the lake?

e) Why, and how, does Lake Simcoe need protecting?

Make sure to include some of your answers to those questions in your poster or shield.

Some of your photos will be shared on the Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition social media and website.

Some may be shared on Lake Simcoe Living social media and in Lake Simcoe Living Magazine!
