And learn to help your lake at the 6th Annual Celebrate Lake Simcoe Saturday, July 25, from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Admission is free, and parking is free for Innisfil residents with parking tags in their car windows.
What a great way to love Lake Simcoe! This is a real beach bash with walking water balls, a giant water slide and lots of other fun water activities for the whole family on the north beach – a $5 wrist band gives you all day access to the water balls and the slide.
You will see how plants and butterflies help protect our watershed – and learn how to bring them back to healthy abundance – as well as other opportunities to learn about the lake and how you can help it from a wealth of organizations who will be on hand throughout the day.
You can try your hand at arts and crafts and take a tour on the Innisfil Rotary Train. Lots of places to take selfies throughout the park too. Live music is provided by Innisfil’s own Bridget Gowan.
Other highlights include the second annual Lake Simcoe Swim, sponsored by Can-Aqua, for people who like a challenge. There will be 1k, 3k and 5k swims for you to choose from. You can register at the park the morning of Celebrate Lake Simcoe. The swims begin promptly at 10AM.
We are very excited this year to have our first Lake Simcoe Regatta organized through the Cook Bay Yacht Club and featuring boats from around the lake. The sail past begins at the south end of the park at 12:30PM. You don’t want to miss this!
Director of Celebrate Lake Simcoe, Anita Vanderdonk, says, “Once again we are partnering with the award-winning SPLASH Festival, an undertaking of the Ontario Water Centre. Celebrate Lake Simcoe and SPLASH hold the same vision: bringing people and nature together to benefit both. This annual event raises awareness of our best resource. Love Lake Simcoe – Feel Good.”

Celebrate Lake Simcoe is an annual event in the Town of Innisfil dedicated to environmental education and awareness of Lake Simcoe. The event is organized by a not-for-profit group of volunteers to highlight and focus solely Lake Simcoe and its Watershed from an environmental and grass roots perspective, looking at the lake as it was 200 years ago and earlier, as it is now, and how it might be in the next 200 years.
