Connecting Lake Simcoe's Community

Have you been to Scanlon Creek Conservation Area recently? If so, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) would like to hear from you. While Scanlon has undergone a number of upgrades and enhancements over the past few years, including an off-leash dog park, children’s discovery garden, extensive trails and picnic pavilions, there’s more to be done.

Conservation areas deliver so many benefits – for nature and for people. They provide important habitat for a number of species, help protect against flooding, clean our water and our air and provide important outdoor recreation opportunities, which contributes to healthier living.

At LSRCA, we want to make the most of our continued efforts to enhance the conservation area with the community’s needs in mind and have posted a survey online at LSRCA.on.ca/PlanScanlon. The survey will be available until March 31. As a bonus, everyone that completes the survey will be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Spinsanity Cycles bike shop in Bradford.

LSRCA also welcomes individuals interested in participating beyond the survey, by attending an upcoming workshop to provide additional feedback. Our mission is to provide leadership in the protection and restoration of the environmental health and quality of Lake Simcoe and its watershed with our community, municipal and other government partners.
