On Saturday, March 28, people around the world will celebrate Earth Hour — the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment.
In 2014, Earth Hour engaged individuals, businesses and organizations in more than 7,000 cities and 162 countries and territories during the hour and beyond.
In 2015, Earth Hour aims to harness the power of its millions of supporters worldwide to change climate change.
PowerStream, which serves several communities in York Region and Simcoe County, will be participating in Earth Hour by powering down the lights at its four locations in Vaughan, Markham and Barrie, as well as reporting municipal power consumption reduction totals throughout its service territory during Earth Hour.
You can show your support by unplugging and turning off from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. any machine, device or electric system that you can.
