Connecting Lake Simcoe's Community

Let's get 150 events going to help the Lake Simcoe Watershed — Lake Simcoe 150 — as part of Canada 150, the celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017.

Would you like to get involved? Your project could be as small as a few neighbours getting together for an afternoon to clean up part of a local stream, or as big as your local association holding a BBQ or concert to raise money for the lake — or any size project in between.

Your event can be anywhere on the Lake Simcoe Watershed — from Orillia to Uxbridge, from Barrie to Brock, from New Tecumseth to Kawartha Lakes — that will benefit Lake Simcoe or any part of its subwatersheds. If the little stream that flows past your house or local park goes to Lake Simcoe, you live on the Lake Simcoe Watershed and you can help!

We’ll publish a list of the events on the website, and photos you submit from your Lake Simcoe 150 event. Be sure to take lots of high-res images we can put in the magazine as well as online!

So, what is Lake Simcoe Living Magazine’s Lake Simcoe 150 project? We are forming a volunteer steering committee to organize this event!

If you would like to be part of the steering committee, please call 289-221-2910.
